LOW BACK PAIN
LOW BACK PAIN
Low back pain is something that 80% of us will experience at one time or another. Pain may be felt in the small of the back,
across the waistline or above the hips, in the buttocks or down the legs and all have the same regional cause for the pain.
The joints in the lower back and between the hips and tailbone are very pain sensitive and when they are misaligned, swelling rapidly
occurs, leading to joints that malfunction whenever you walk or change positions from lying to sitting to standing. Staying
in one position for a prolonged period of time is another way to aggravate this condition. Bending slightly at a sink to wash
or shave usually proves to be very aggravating.
Dr. Talmadge is experienced in determining whether the pain you are experiencing
is coming from an structural problem or a more serious cause, such as a rupture or herniated disc. If it is structural in nature,
Dr. Talmadge will recommend a treatment regimen designed to restore normal function to the affected joints, which will in turn, relieve
nerve pressure and pain. If it appears to be related to a disc problem, Dr. Talmadge will refer you to the appropriate specialist
for further diagnostics.
